Rihanna’s ‘Loud’ Eligible for 4x Platinum

1200x630bbRihanna’s 2010 album, which produced the chart topping hits “Only Girl”, “What’s My Name?” and “S&M” has officially surpassed 1.9 million in pure sales in the United States.

With 22 million in RIAA certified units across its six biggest singles, ‘Loud’ is now eligible for a 4x Platinum certification through the RIAA. Using the ratio of 10 single units to 1 album sale, the album has notched up over 2.2m units from single equivalents and a combined 4.13m RIAA units.

Note 1: RIAA counts video streaming in addition to on-demand audio streams. Nielsen tracks both as well but does not factor the former (video) into its equivalent album sales.

Note 2: The album is not officially 4x Platinum (as the RIAA still has it at 3x), but is eligible for a re-certification.

‘Loud’ was previously officially certified 3x Platinum by the RIAA this past March.
