Spotify’s Top 50 Artists of 2020

As part of the company’s #2020Wrapped campaign, Spotify has unveiled the top 50 most streamed artists of the year globally.

Latin star Bad Bunny ranked at #1 for the first time, earning over 8.3 billion streams worldwide during the tracking period. This marks the best single year stream count for any artist in the platform’s history.

Drake rebounded to #2, up six spots from last year’s ranking of #8. He last ranked higher in 2018, when he topped the countdown.

J Balvin came in at #3, up four spots from #7. He has appeared in the top 10 three years in a row.

The late Juice WRLD ranked at #4 globally, also ranking at #1 among artists on US Spotify.

The Weeknd rounded out the top 5, also claiming the #1 single with “Blinding Lights”.

BTS was the top group, ranking at #6 overall. The Korean septet also ranked #1 among groups on US Spotify.

Billie Eilish repeated as the top female artist of the year, ranking #7 overall (down from #2 overall in 2019) and Taylor Swift was right behind at #8. Swift concurrently ranked #1 among female artists on US Spotify.

Last year’s #1 artist, Post Malone, ranked at #9 with one single release and Travis Scott closed out the top 10 at #10.
