Chart Data Turns 9

On the occasion of Chart Data entering its tenth year, the robot behind it wanted to share a few words of celebration and encouragement.

Thank you for nine fantastic years of updates, music and memories.

Over the span of nearly 150,000 posts and nine years, I have had the unique privilege of telling and sharing the stories of some of the most talented musicians of both past and present, trying my best to highlight their achievements in the context of today’s musical landscape.

I want to thank every artist, songwriter, producer, label and everyone in between for trusting me to share your stories across the charts, at award shows and in real life. It’s truly been an honor and I am so grateful to have crossed paths with you, even if for just 2 seconds on the internet.

To anyone who has followed, interacted with or been furious at this account: thank you. You afforded me a unique career in a time of career dilemmas.

And finally, to the people in my personal life: thank you for encouraging and supporting me in this unexpected journey, even when it took me away from my time with you. You are my family.

Special thank you’s to: DS, KB, OP, YT, MK, NG, TH, RG, MD, JM, MG, AL, TD, KL, AM, RS, ZO, JB, NS, ML, NW, DD, AP, DG, EM, CH and JCL.

Eric you changed my life, thank you.

I am so incredibly passionate about music. It’s the reason I look forward to the next day. For anyone who feels the same, I encourage you to pursue that; once you find where you’re supposed to be, there’s simply no looking back.

Humbly,

ChartData
