With just nine songs, Billie Eilish’s breakthrough extended play ‘dont smile at me’ has topped the 1 billion mark on Spotify. Billie becomes the youngest artist ever to surpass this milestone with a project.
The set’s billion stream total is led by lead single “ocean eyes”, which has racked up nearly 200 million plays, and “idontwannabeyouanymore” at 172 million listens. Both titles are listed on this week’s issue of the Hot 100 (January 19, 2019) at No. 97 and No. 98 respectively.
Tracks “bellyache”, “watch” and “my boy” round out the EP’s top 5 most played, each of them with upwards of 100 million streams.
Eilish has been generating buzz since the release of “ocean eyes” in early 2016. As 2019 starts to unfold, she continues to climb to new heights. This week, ‘dont’ ascends into the top 20 on the Billboard 200 for the first time (No. 19) following a vinyl release and four tracks from her catalog chart on the Hot 100.
