Earning 126,000 units in the week ending January 24, Future’s latest full length studio effort ‘The WIZRD’ debuts at #1 on this week’s Billboard 200.
The set is the Atlanta rapper’s sixth overall leader and is his first #1 record in America since March 2017. That month, ‘Future’ and ‘HNDRXX’ made chart history by debuting at #1 in back-to-back weeks.
Notching his sixth #1 just three and a half years after landing his first (‘DS2’ in 2015), Future becomes the artist with the fastest accumulation of six chart toppers this century. The last artist to notch up six #1’s in a shorter amount of time? Elton John, who landed seven Billboard 200 #1’s within three years and four months.
Also of note, ahead of Monday’s Hot 100 reveal, Billboard confirms tracks from The WIZRD earned a combined 143.6 million audio streams, a new career high for Future. Surpassing collaborator Taylor Swift for the tenth most Hot 100 entries of all time just last week (78), these impressive numbers suggest an impending flurry of Hot 100 debuts and a potential grab at eighth place.
