Chart Data Turns 10

There’s something cosmic about music. It’s a great uniter, a divider, a reminder. A friend, a foe. Everything in between. “Well… it’s something I relate to” a wise man once said. It’s probably the best entertainment medium that’s ever been invented.

On the eve of a decade in the music business, I’m listening to my favorite records of all time. These records span decades, artists, genres and moods. I am giddy like a kid.

I know I’ve largely refrained from sharing anything about myself. I stand by that decision.

But I do want to take the time to thank everyone for an excellent ten years. This has been a fantastic ride that has brought me to unexpected locations, afforded me life changing opportunities and led me to some of the most incredible people I’ve ever met. I’ve told stories, accidentally gotten into trouble and championed the spirit of the music that defines this generation.

As I have done in years past, I want to acknowledge the incredible people in the music industry that have trusted me to share their stories and celebrate their successes. Behind every individual there’s several dozen others that no one sees. Artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, managers, agents, label personnel and so many more. I am honored to amplify your achievements and meet your digital (or in real life) acquaintance.

Over the past decade I’ve been able to cover, experience, work with and even meet some of my favorite artists and industry talent of all-time. Most have been incredibly delightful. One made fun of Chart Data to my face without realizing it was me. And everything in between.

As always, I want to thank the people in my personal life that have watched and helped guide me over this incredible journey. I could not do it without you; thank you for your support.

Special thank you’s to: DS, KB, OP, YT, MK, NG, SS, TH, RG, MD, JM, MG, AL, TD, KL, AM, RS, ZO, JB, NS, ML, NW, DD, AP, DG, EM, KZ, DP, JAM, CH and JCL.

Eric you changed my life eight years ago, thank you. I am so honored we got to finally meet.

If you are passionate about music I urge you to express it. Music is the reason I am who I am. It’s the reason I keep going. I am thrilled to start the next chapter and I appreciate you all for continuing the journey with me.

“For anyone who feels the same, I encourage you to pursue that; once you find where you’re supposed to be, there’s simply no looking back”

Yours in music,
